Welcome to Alumina’s online consultation portal for their emerging proposal for new homes and infrastructure on Land West of Romford Road, Aveley.

Alumina are currently in the design stages of preparing an outline planning application and would like to receive comments from the local community to help inform the final proposal before it is submitted to Thurrock Council.

As residents may remember, the land west of Romford Road was previously identified by Thurrock Council as potentially suitable for a new neighbourhood in the Regulation 18 Local Plan consultation document in late 2023.

Alongside the new homes, Alumina would like to bring forward brand new, state of the art healthcare facilities to Aveley.

They are currently in discussions with the Council and the NHS to include a new GP surgery and diagnostic centre as part of their plan.

Located next to the new GP surgery, the new high tech diagnostic centre would make it quicker and easier for local residents to access health services from blood tests to MRI scans.

This would be bricks-and-mortar infrastructure instead of financial contributions that can take years to translate into real infrastructure. If the NHS agree to Alumina’s plans, this infrastructure would be built by the developer to the specifications of the health service.
